President concludes successful Iran visit
Sri Lanka and Iran sign 8 MoUs

President Mahinda Rajapaksa concluded his official visit to Iran on a successful note yesterday (27). During the visit the two countries signed eight Memoranda of Understanding (MoU).

 

During a joint press conference with President Rajapaksa Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said, "implementation of the agreements would help boost bilateral cooperation." He also said that the two states share unanimous stance on all international issues.


President Rajapaksa appreciated Iran's hospitality during his stay in Tehran and said that the agreements signed in Iran will help develop Tehran-Colombo
cooperation.

 

President Ahmadinejad noted that relations between Iran and Sri Lanka are on a growing trend and the two nations enjoy longstanding cultural amity.
