Heavy fighting in Mannar 

[Monday, December 03, 2007 - 10.30 GMT]  

Thirty five terrorists were killed when the security forces retaliated and LTTE attack this morning between 1.00 and 3.00 a.m. using small arms and mortars in Adampan, Mannar according to the Media Centre for National Security (MCNS).

A large stock of military hardware was recovered in the search operation conducted after the incident.

Six soldiers were killed and 20 others were injured in the attack, MCNS said.
