The Government has released 2352 persons out of a total of 2554 persons
taken into custody during the search operations last weekend, said Chief
Government Whip Minister Jeyaraj Fernandopulle at a press briefing
yesterday (4) afternoon in Colombo.
Of them 1959 were released on the day of arrest itself and another 393
were released following identification. The balance 202 persons have
been remanded or kept under detention orders.
