Three soldiers killed in pressure mine explosion

Three soldiers were killed and three others wounded in a pressure mine explosion this morning (January 03) around 9.30 at Sinhayaulpatha, in Welioya.

According to defence sources, a meal distributing vehicle to duty personnel was caught in the mine explosion along the Yakawewa- Padaviya main road. Among the four injured two soldiers were admitted to Kebithigollewa general hospital, while others were taken to general hospital at Anuradhapura.

Search operations are been conducted in the area, security sources said.
