Doctors’ traveling allowance increased

President Mahinda Rajapaksa met representatives of Government Medical Officers Association at Temple Trees today (January 11) to discuss issues faced by doctors while carrying out their duties. 

President Rajapaksa took a policy decision to increase the traveling allowance of the doctors since there was no increment since 1994.  

President and doctors discussed about the Government’s drug policy extensively and President instructed the Health Ministry Secretary to make arrangements to implement Prof. Senaka Bibile’s drug policy.   

It was decided that Health Ministry and Finance Ministry to work in collaboration with regard to foreign training of the doctors.
