LTTE massacres nine civilians in Thanamalwila  
[Friday, January 18, 2008 - 4.40 GMT] 

Nine civilians were killed in a LTTE attack in Kalawalgala, a remote village in Thanamalwila around 10, last night (January 17), defence sources said.

According to defence sources, the LTTE has laid anti personnel mines in the area.
