Law to be more humane for juveniles

Attention of the Government has been drawn to the need for separating teenagers from hardened criminals in the country’s remand prisons. At present a large number of teenagers are in overcrowded prisons alongside notorious criminals, including re-convicts. It is also proposed to bring amendments to the existing laws to make the Courts System more humane to juveniles and teenagers with a view to emphasise their rehabilitation in society.
