Indian Congress Party MP C. Gnanasekaran told the Tamil Nadu Parliament that the Congress Party “''will not forget or forgive the LTTE”, which left a deep scar by assassinating former Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.

He called upon the state government to take steps to get Prabhakaran deported to India to face trial. Expressing concern over the ''open support'' offered by some of the political parties and organizations in Tamil Nadu for the banned organization, he urged Chief Minister M Karunanidhi to take stern action against them and ban such organizations.

Meanwhile, Indian Police acting on a tip off yesterday carried out a search operation in the coastal village of Kambipadu in Rameswaram to look for weapons hidden by the LTTE.
