Country’s longest tunnel opens

   

President Mahinda Rajapaksa opened the 225 meter long Ramboda tunnel- the country’s longest tunnel on February 23.

The Tunnel was constructed at a cost of Rs. 2 billion with financial assistance from the Japanese Government.

Highways Development Minister Jeyaraj Fernandopulle and Japanese Ambassador Kiyoshi Araki were present at the opening ceremony of the Ramboda Tunnel along with other government officials.
