Pakistan Senators meet President
A delegation from the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs of Pakistan Senate paid a courtesy call on President Mahinda Rajapaksa at the Presidential Secretariat, Colombo this morning (14). Senator Mushaid Hussain Sayed (Chairman) and 10 others constituted the delegation.

The Senators told the President that the long standing cordial relations between Sri Lanka and Pakistan should continue despite changes in the Government of Pakistan. They also commended the stand taken by the Sri Lankan President in opposing the move to expel Pakistan from the Commonwealth at its recent Summit in Uganda last year. The Chairman of the delegation also said that Asian countries should work together to counter the wrong interpretation of human rights developments in the region.

President Rajapaksa referring to occasional crises between the Executive and the Judiciary said that they should be settled cordially. He also said that vested interests are pursuing a policy to create such conflicts.
