BOI Signs 7 new agreements worth Rs. 717m
The Board of Investment of Sri Lanka signed agreements for 7 new projects with a total investment of Rs. 717 million, a BOI press release said. These projects cover a range of sectors and will be generating 650 new employment opportunities.

Euro Motor Corporation (Private) Limited

Euro Motor Corporation is a project to manufacture spare parts and assemble brand new automotive vehicles for the local market. The project sponsored by Auto Ranch Motors of United Arab Emirates is an initial investment of Rs. 300 million. The venture located at Moranthuduwa is expected to provide 210 employment opportunities.

Bon Bridge Holiday Resorts and Villas (Private) Limited

The agreement signed with Bon Bridge Holiday Resorts and Villas is for a project to set up a Boutique Hotel in Matara. The Boutique Hotel is an investment of Rs 78 million. The venture is expected to provide employment for a workforce of 100 and will be located at Matara Fort.

United Lanka Farmers Produce (Private) Limited

United Lanka Farmers Produce signed an agreement to set up a high tech rice mill to produce rice in Ampara. The venture is expected to provide employment for an initial workforce of 50.

R S Products (Private) Limited

An agreement to manufacture value added Graphite Products and Sprinklers for the export market was signed with R S Products. The project will be located at Wehera Village, Matale. The venture is an investment of Rs. 25 million. The company will manufacture Graphite based products such as Carbon Brushes and Carbon Fibre used for Formula 1 Race Cars.

Natech Labels and Systems (Private) Limited

Natech Labels and Systems is a project to manufacture barcode labels for indirect export. The project is an investment of Rs. 30 million. The venture is expected to provide 20 employment opportunities. The project is a joint venture with investors from Singapore.

Horizon College of Business and Technology (Private) Limited

The agreement signed with Horizon College of Business and Technology is for a project to set up an Institute to provide education in Information Technology. This is an investment of Rs. 200 million between Sri Lankan investors and investors from Singapore. The institute targets in providing education for the Sri Lankan youth as well as students from Maldives, Singapore and Malaysia. The venture is expected to provide employment for a workforce of 120. The In-house Campus will be located at IT Park, Malabe.

Eastern International Academy (Private) Limited

Eastern International Academy signed an agreement for a project to set up an Institute to provide training in Information Technology, Business Studies, Advanced English and Vocational Training at Ampara. This is an investment of Rs. 40 million sponsored by the Daya Group. The institute targets in providing education for the youth in Ampara.
