Iran, Sri Lanka discuss expansion of ties

Ports and Aviation Minister Chamal Rajapaksa held discussions with the Iranian Ambassador in Colombo on further strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.

During the discussion the Iranian Ambassador has offered to provide higher training in Iran for Sri Lankan port employees and to supply the Shipping Corporation with vessels.

The two sides also discussed adoption of introductory measures to pave the way for a visit to Sri Lanka by the Iranian President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
