Transfer of Police officers not a political decision
Minister Rambukwella

The Decision to transfer three Police officers stationed in East was taken on alleged misconducts against them, and not on political grounds, said Minister Keheliya Rambukwella today (March 25).

The Minister rejects reports that the Commissioner General of Elections is against this decision and said this is the normal procedure carried out against the government officials who faces disciplinary inquiries.

“If the Police Department does not take actions against its officers with disciplinary charges, the public will lose faith in the Department,” the Minister added.
