Sri Lanka adheres to the "One China Policy", hopes
resolution on Tibet issue |

The Government of Sri Lanka wishes to reaffirm its
adherence to the "One China Policy" and the
territorial integrity of China and sincerely hopes
that normalcy will return to the Tibetan Autonomous
Region of China, a Foreign Ministry statement said.
Sri Lanka further wishes that the disturbances will
be brought to an end amicably with the Buddhist
concept of "Ahimsa".
“As the world looks forward to the 29th Summer
Olympics which would be held in Beijing China, the
Government of Sri Lanka hopes that this greatest of
sporting events will not be politicized . We further
hope that the Beijing Olympics will bring the
athletes from across the world to Beijing under the
slogan "one world one dream" which reflects the
essence and the universal values of the Olympic
spirit, unity, friendship, progress, harmony,
participation and dreams” the statement said.
