New appointments in Judiciary
President Mahinda Rajapaksa has appointed a new member to the Supreme Court and made two changes in the constitution of the Court of Appeal.

Justice K. Shreepavan, President of the Court of Appeal has been sworn in as a Justice of the Supreme Court.

Justice Ms. Chandra Ekanayake of the Court of Appeal has been appointed as its new President and High Court Judge A. H. M. Upali Abeyratne has been appointed to fill the resulting vacancy in the Court of Appeal.

These Justices took their oaths before President Rajapaksa at Temple Tress today. Secretary to the President Lalith Weeratunga was also present on this occasion.
