Air Force attacks identified LTTE targets in Vavuniya
Air Force today (March 31) launched a successful attack on identified LTTE targets in Vavuniya, said Military spokesman Brigadier Udaya Nanayakkara.

More than 600 LTTE cadres and 73 soldiers were killed during operations this year, he said.

The number of LTTE cadres who surrender to the security forces has increased. Those surrendees will be rehabilitated and the government has taken steps to provide overseas employment opportunities for them. The government has already held discussions with several foreign governments in this regard, he added.
