Sri Lankan air force jets destroyed a LTTE base in Mankulam believed used to train suicide cadres early this morning (April 7), defense sources said.

Meanwhile, helicopter gunships conducted air attack targeting LTTE bunkers at south of Muhamalai in Jaffna around 6.30 a.m.

The air attacks were launched to assist ground troops engaged in offensive operations in the area and to disrupt the LTTE formations, Air Force spokesman Andrew Wijesooriya said.
