Security Forces take control in Muhamale Defence positions

Security Forces have re-deployed their positions in and around Muhamale following yesterday's battle, defence sources said this morning (April 24).

According to defence sources 43 army personnel were killed and more than 120 soldiers were injured in the confrontation while 38 soldiers had gone missing.

Troops confirmed more than one hundred LTTE cadres were killed in the battle and an equal number of cadres were injured.
