Tamil Nadu Government has accepted the Report of the Advisory Board of the Special Prison for Women at Vellore which rejected the appeal of Nalini, a convict in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case, for early release.

The Hindu reported on May 3 that Dr. Subramanian Swamy, Janata Party President had released to the press a copy of the letter written by Home Secertary S. Malathi to the Principal Secretary to the Governor of Tamil Nadu conveying the above decision of the Advisory Board.
