The government was able to initiate several development programmes in East after the brave and courageous operation conducted by the Sri Lankan Security Forces to bring liberation to the people in the area, said President Mahinda Rajapaksa at the ceremony to laid the foundation stone for the construction of Oluvil port this morning.

“We are taking every possible step to enhance the living standards of the people in the East and we will never bow down to the terrorism," President added.

We restore the normalcy in the East with every privilege and freedom which they were denied of, said President Rajapaksa while appealing to the people in the east to work closely with the government.
