The government declared the period from May 7 to June 7 as Ranaviru Month at a ceremony held at Temple Tress yesterday (May 7).

S. P. Dilki Jayasundara, the daughter of Ranaviru S. P. Gamini Jayasundara pinned a Ranaviru Flag on President Mahinda Rajapaksa to mark the occasion.

President Rajapaksa said it was the duty of all countrymen to respect and remember the service rendered by the Security Forces who sacrificed their lives to protect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country.
