WB aid to ensure dam safety in Sri Lanka

 

World Bank has granted US $ 65.33 million for a project to improve dam safety and operational efficiency of the ageing dam network in Sri Lanka. The funds will be utilized to upgrade and modernize the existing hydro-meteorological information systems and to provide technical support for management and monitoring the project. Sri Lankan government will fund the balance contribution of US $ 6.33 million for the project which costs a total of US $ 71.66 million.
