Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollagama, handed over donations of Rs. 78m received through Sri Lankan Missions and Honorary Consulates abroad for the Negenahira Navodaya Programme to President Mahinda Rajapaksa at Temple Trees yesterday.

Donations received included Rs. 13m in cash and donations in-kind amounting to Rs. 65m. Water Pumps, Computers, School Equipment, Medical Equipment and Hospital Beds were among the items collected for distribution. Donations of over Rs.18m are also in the pipeline.

The donations received are to be used for the benefit of the people of the Eastern Province as part of the Negenahira Navodaya Programme..
