Six civilians were killed 12 others were wounded when LTTE launched artillery attack in Jaffna mainland this morning (May 29), defence sources said.

According to military, 20 rounds of heavy artillery shells have fallen into the densely populated Kolombuthurai, and Gurunagar areas in Jaffna. The injured were admitted to the Jaffna teaching hospital.

Meanwhile naval troops destroyed four LTTE boats off Kolombuthurai this morning.
