On Monday June 2 the ‘Q’ branch of the Tamil Nadu police have arrested a suspect, Edward Jayakumar from the Pudupatti refugee camp in Madurai in connection with the recent discovery and seizure of chemicals allegedly meant for the LTTE. During interrogation, the suspect had reportedly confessed that he had purchased the chemical from an agent in Bangalore. He was produced before a city magistrate and remanded in judicial custody.
