President Mahinda Rajapaksa arrived in
London yesterday to attend the Commonwealth
Conference.
The Conference scheduled to be held next
Tuesday in London, with British Prime
Minister Gordon Brown presiding, will
discuss how the decisions reached at the
Commonwealth Summit last November, could be
implemented. Heads of State from 12
countries are expected to attend the
conference.
The reformation and the re-structure of
the World Bank (WB) and the International
Monetary Fund (IMF) in accordance with
global needs and trends, will also come up
for discussion at the conference.
During his two day official visit to
London, President Rajapaksa will meet
British Premier Gordon Brown, Opposition
Leader David Camron and other British
Parliamentarians and apprise them on the
current situation in Sri Lanka.
