The All Party Representative Committee (APRC) will resume its sessions this week after a recess, its Chairman Minister Tissa Vitharana said yesterday (14).

Batticaloa Mayor Sivageetha Prabakaran will join the APRC as the nominee of the TMVP which enters the APRC process as a new organization.

The TMVP which broke off from the LTTE has since then joined the political mainstream and controls the first ever Eastern Provincial Council established recently.

The APRC was constituted in 2006 on the directive of President Mahinda Rajapaksa to work our suitable devolution proposals to solve the National Question.
