Dayan to represent Asia on UNHRC Consultative Group

 

Sri Lanka's Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the UN in Geneva, Dayan Jayatilleka, has been nominated as a member of the Consultative Group of the United Nations Human Rights Council, representing Asia.

The Consultative Group facilitates the Human Rights Council's work on the selection of the Special Procedures mandate holders.

The nomination of Jayatilleka as the candidate of the Asian Group was communicated to Martin I. Uhomoibhi, the President of the Human Rights Council, by China, the coordinator of the Asian Group.
