Foreign Minister Rohitha Bogollagama will lead the Sri Lankan delegation to the 15th Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Ministerial Conference to be held in the Iranian capital Tehran from July 29 to 30.

Sri Lanka is a founder member of NAM, which comprises 118 member states, representing nearly two-thirds of the UN membership and 55% of the world population.

Sri Lanka hosted the 5th Non-Aligned Summit in 1976 and is currently a Vice Chair for the Asian region.

Minister Bogollagama will address the plenary session on the inaugural day of the meeting on July 29. He is also scheduled to call on the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Dr. Mahmoud Ahamadinejad.
