Armed forces enter Killinochchi and Mulativu districts

 

Continuing its Northern offensive the Army has entered the KIllinochchi and Mulativu districts and its 57 and 58 Divisions are at present fighting 6 km north of Mallavi, said Army Spokesman Brigadier Udaya Nanayakkara during a press briefing at the Media Centre for National security, Colombo this morning (7).

He also said that the security forces found about 100 bodies of dead LTTE cadres during he last month and that it had handed over 60 of them to the LTTE through the ICRC.

The spokesman for the Sri Lankan Air Force (SLAF) Wing Commander Janaka Nanayakkara said that during the last week the SLAF had attacked and destroyed a Sea Tiger base together with two boats and an LTTE training camp for Black Tigers.
