UPFA sweeps in NCP and Sabaragamuwa

 

The United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) swept the polls in elections to the North Central and Sabaragamuwa Provincial Councils held yesterday (23).

The UPFA obtained a total of 45 seats in both provincial councils compared to the United National Party (UNP) that won 29. The JVP won only 3 seats in both councils.

In the NCP the UPFA has a majority of 07 seats, and in Sabaragamuwa its majority is 06 seats.

The detailed results according to seats allocated are given below.
