Japanese Parliamentarian delegation visits Sri Lanka

 

A four-member Japanese Parliamentarian delegation led by Hosei Norota, Member of the House of Representatives, Chairman of Japan-Sri Lanka Parliamentarians’ Friendship Association, Former Minister of Agriculture, Forestry & Fisheries and Former Minister of Defense, will arrive in Sri Lanka on a goodwill visited Sri Lanka on August 22 The purpose of their visit is to promote and deepen bilateral relations between the two countries and the peoples.

According to the Japanese Embassy in Colombo, Mr. Norota is accompanied by Hiroshi Nakai, Member of the House of Representatives and Former Minister of Justice, Naokazu Takemoto, Member of the House of Representatives and Former Senior Vice Minister of Finance, Shozaburo Jimi, Member of the House of Councillors and Former Minister of Post and Telecommunications and other officials of the government of Japan.

During their 5-day stay in Sri Lanka, they will meet with leaders of the Sri Lankan Government to exchange views on various bilateral issues. They will also visit the Sri Dalada Maligawa in Kandy, Sigiriya Rock as well as the new Sigiriya Museum currently under construction with funds provided by the Japanese Government and some project sites funded by Japan.
