World Bank to provide 900m USD to develop East

 

The World Bank is ready to provide 900 million USD to for the coming five years to help the Government’s development activities in the East, said World Bank Vice President for South Asia Isabela Guerrero when she called on President Mahinda Rajapaksa at Temple Trees yesterday.

“Sri Lanka is rapidly moving forward on the path of development as a country in South Asia,” she said.

The World Bank Vice President also said that most countries in the world which are faced with the threat of terrorism are now emerging from that threat by eliminating terrorism.

She promised further aid to develop North once the region is liberated from the LTTE.
