Twenty seven civilians were killed and more than 80 were wounded when a suspected LTTE suicide cadre blew himself in Anuradhapura this morning.

The opposition leader of the North-Central provincial council, Maj General Janaka Perera (Retd) and UNP oraganizer in Anuradhapura Dr John Pulle were among the dead.
