LTTE is a banned organization in the
United Kingdom as well as in other parts of
the world. Therefore, funds should not be
collected for them openly or by underhand
methods, said senior member of the House of
Lords, Lord Naseby.
He made this observation after visiting a
photo exhibition organized by the Sri
Lankans Against Terrorism together with
Presidential Media Unit and the Sri Lanka
High Commission in London yesterday.
The Sri Lankan government respects the
right of every ethnic group in the country
and if the LTTE is genuinely concerned about
the Tamil people what they should do now is
to abandon war and hostilities and enter the
peace process, he said.
More than 230 photos and video films
depicting atrocities carried out by the LTTE
including political killings as well as
killing of civilians, damage to properties,
suicide attacks, and recruitment of child
soldiers were exhibited at the exhibition.
It is reported that the exhibition attracted
more than 1500 visitors including officials
of New Scotland Yard.
Two more photo exhibitions followed by
this are scheduled in The Hague on 27 and 28
October and later in Paris.
