The government will present the 2009 budget in Parliament today. This is the fourth budget to be presented by President Mahinda Rajapaksa after he was elected to office 2005.

The second reading of the budget will start tomorrow and continue till November 15. The final vote on the budget will be taken up in the House on December 8.
