LTTE ban to stay in India

India’s ban on the LTTE will stay despite Prabhakaran’s appeal to lift it, which was made in his annual speech on Thursday (27). According to a news report filed by IANS news agency, official sources have said that “India has no intention of lifting the ban on Sri Lanka’s Tamil Tigers.” According to the report officials have “said the question of acceding to the request did notarise since the ban, first imposed in 1992, had been extended for another two years only now.”
