Relief for stranded Sri Lankans in Bangkok

Sri Lankan Embassy in Thailand and the SriLankan Airlines have made arrangements to send home Sri Lankans stranded at besieged airports in Bangkok. Thai authorities have evacuated them and provided them hotel accommodation at their expense. A batch of 110 passengers has been picked up by a SriLankan flight diverted from Hong Kong yesterday (Dec 01). A second flight is scheduled to bring another batch today.

A hotline number 00662 2611 935 and an Emergency Coordinating Desk has been opened in the Sri Lanka Embassy in Bangkok since last Friday to provide information to the families of the stranded passengers.
