US extends ban on LTTE

 

The United States extended the ban on LTTE for five more years since it considers it as a terror organization.

US first banned LTTE in 1997 and it was extended in 2003 for five more years until 2008. US State Department has informed the Colombo US ambassador that the ban will be effect until 2013.
