ADB assistance much needed for the development of North

Assistance of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) is much needed once the North region is liberated from the clutches of terrorism soon said President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

He made these observations at a meeting with ADB's Vice President Xiaoyu Zhao (Operations) at President's House this morning.

President also appreciated the Bank's support to the country's development.

Sri Lanka has shown progress in every sphere during the last three years and the interest of the President in ensuring the success of the projects carried out by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) is laudable said the ADB's Vice President.

The ADB Vice President promised the continued support of the Bank to uplift the living standard of the poor by assisting to develop infrastructure facilities in the rural areas.
