Tamil civilians in Jaffna yesterday staged a massive protest against the atrocities committed by the LTTE. According to the Defence Ministry website over 16000 civilians participated in the protest marched from Kaithadi to Chawakachcheri displaying banners and placards with slogans against the LTTE.

The protestors demanded the LTTE to let them live in peace and to free the Tamils held hostage in Wanni.
