Maldivian President Mohamed Nasheed arrived in Sri Lanka today (January 02) on a two-day official visit.

On this arrival the Maldivian President was received by President Mahinda Rajapaksa at the Bandaranaike International Airport.

President Nasheed was accorded a 21- gun salute by the Sri Lanka Army and a Guard of Honour by the Sri Lanka Navy. This is President Nasheed"s first overseas visit since he was elected President of Maldives' in November 2008.
