Jaffna civilians stage massive protest against LTTE

People of Jaffna peninsula staged a massive protest campaign yesterday against the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE).

According to the sources in Jaffna nearly 3,000 civilians took part in the protest campaign organized by the Eelam People's Democratic Party (EPDP).

The main goal of the protest was to pressure the LTTE to release all Wanni civilians who are forcibly detained by the Tigers as human shields.

Reportedly the protesters have organized a walking parade too in the Jaffna city.

This was the second protest campaign the people of Jaffna organized in recent past.
