Time for us to use knowledge of Northern children to rebuilt country - President

It is time for us to use the knowledge of Northern children to rebuild our country. The Knowledge and skills of Northern children who even built submarines to destroy the country, should be utilized in building the nation, said President Mahinda Rajapaksa at the 2nd convocation of Ocean University of Sri Lanka conducted at the Presidential Secretariat today.

Every child has the right to education irrespective of community. Through this all children can participate in nation building, the President said.

The new Sri Lanka we seek would be free from terror. The children of the fishing community in the Northeast should be given every opportunity to benefit from the Ocean University , the President further said.

Ocean University should share its Knowledge with Universities abroad, he added.

Sixty Seven graduates were conferred degrees at this ceremony.
