Army recovers LTTE suicide bomb factory

 

Army personnel attached to the 58 Division recovered the LTTE sea tiger leader Susai's camp and suicide bomb manufacturing camp located in west of Puthukkudiyiruppu yesterday, (25).

Troops of 58 Division have captured the location which is believed to be used as suicide bombs, claymore mines and Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) manufacturing yard. The captured bomb manufacturing yard is located Puthukkudiyiruppu west, said military officials.

In confrontations reported west of Puthukkudiyiruppu, LTTE suffered heavy damages, ground troops confirmed intercepting LTTE radio communication. Four bodies of LTTE terrorists killed during the confrontation were found along with 2 x T-56 weapons, military sources added.

Bordering to the bomb manufacturing yard, another LTTE camp which is believed to be used by the LTTE sea tiger leader Susai, was totally destroyed due to accurate aerial bombing, was also captured by the troops of 10 Gajaba Regiment (10GR) and 12 GR yesterday.

Outboat motors and many other equipment used by the sea tigers were at the Susai's camp, military sources added.
