Nepal - Sri Lanka Presidents begin political
consultations |

President
Rajapaksa and his Nepalese counterpart Dr.
Ram Baran Yadav met at Sital Niwas in
Kathmandu yesterday talked on the
possibility of linking Kathmandu and the
Lanka capital Colombo, and the roles of the
South Asian Association for Regional
Corporation (SAARC), and the current ongoing
peace process in Nepal, among other things
of mutual interests.
President Rajapaksa's visit holds special
significance as he is the first foreign head
of state to visit the Nepal after the
holding of the Constituent Assembly
elections.
The Sri Lanka president will meet with Prime
Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Tuesday. He
is scheduled to visit Lumbini, the
birthplace of Lord Buddha, on Wednesday.
The Sri Lankan delegation comprised Foreign
Minister Rohitha Bogollagama, Secretary to
the President Lalith Weeratunga and
Coordinating Secretary to the President
Sajin Vaas Goonewardena.
