Exposition of Sacred Tooth Relic

 

A special public exposition of the Sacred Tooth Relic will begin at the Sri Dalada Maligawa in Kandy today (March 6). It will continue from 1 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. daily till March 16, said Diyawadana Nilame of the Sri Dalada Maligawa Pradeep Nilanga Dela Bandara.

The Exposition of Tooth Relic organised after a lapse of six years on the instructions of the Mahanayaka Theros of Malwatte and Asgiriya, to invoke blessings on the country and people for peace and prosperity.

According to the Diyawadana Nilame more than one million local and foreign devotees including tourists are expected to visit Kandy during the exposition.

The Kandy District Secretary has requested all public institutions in Kandy to hoist the Buddhist Flag during the period of the exposition.
