Indian spy satellite to eye terrorists |
|
|
|
India will launch a spy satellite from the
Sriharikota spaceport on April 20, primarily
to keep an eye on its borders, PTI reports.
The satellite is expected to keep a close
watch on possible terrorist infiltration
into India.
This report comes among increasing
intelligence concerns that the LTTE may try
to move its fighting cadres under threat of
defeat by the Sri Lankan troops to Tamil
Nadu and other South India states, where
they can safe havens to continue terrorists
operations against Sri Lanka, as well as
carry out separatist campaigns for Tamilian
political groups seeking a separate Tamil
state in southern India.
India is also concerned about the possible
infiltration of terrorist elements from
other neighbouring countries such as
Pakistan and Bangladesh, and Taliban
supported activity in the Jammu-Kashmir
border area.
