Sri Lanka establishes diplomatic relations with Paraguay

 

Sri Lanka and Paraguay have established diplomatic relations at ambassadorial level, guided by the principles and purposes of the Charter of the United Nations and the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of April 1961, and by the mutual desire to strengthen the existing friendly relations between the two States in political, economic, commercial, cultural and other fields.

The Joint Communiqué to this effect was signed on 03rd April 2009 by the Permanent Representatives of Sri Lanka and Paraguay to the United Nations in New York, states a Media Release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Colombo.
