UN to donate $10 mn for IDPs

 
The Under Secretary General of the UN Sir John Holmes visited the IDP Welfare Camps in Vavuniya yesterday (April 27) and promised to donate 10 million US Dollars through UN agencies to uplift the living condition in the camps.

Sir.John Holmes satisfied with the facilities given by the Government of Sri Lanka to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Vavuniya who fled from the LTTE grip.

Minister of Resettlement and Disaster Relief Services Rishard Bathiyudeen also accompanied the UN envoy to visit IDP camps.
